SATV (South Asian) is a privately- owned 'Infotainment' television channels in Bangladesh. This is the first station in Bangladesh using HD technology. The channel is owned by SA Group, one of the country's largest transportation and real estate groups. First channel SATV to bring IDL franchise to Bangladesh through Bangladesh Idol. Satvoy's head office is located in Dhaka of Gulshan 1.



The channel started its full commercial run on January 19, 2013. Senior filmmaker Syed Salahuddin Zaki is the chief operating officer of the channel and Scott Robert Craig is head of New York.


SATV has completed its network coverage through wire operators in various countries, including the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and the Middle East.

History

ATN News has broadcasted its first test transmission on May 1, 2010, and officially went on air on June 7, 2010. World Class television journalist and media personality Mishuk Muniya joined ATN News as CEO and Chief Editor in November 2010. He was the TV station until his death on August 13, 2011. Noted Bangladeshi journalist Abed Khan played the role of chief executive officer and chief editor in 2011; He has been in the post till his resignation on April 20, 2013. At present, Mahfuzur Rahman's president ATN News, Sharkar Firoz worked as CEO and adviser and Munni Saha served as ATN chief.

On Friday and Saturday, ATN News carries a set of special news stories on a special topic to attract public and government attention.

Shows and programs

Where we (ours), a ceremony that reflects the general opinion of people, opinions and responses in general matters. Where we run for about 5-10 minutes and every week from 14:40 Sunday to Thursday.

Anandalok (Anandoloke): a weekly program covering cultural activities happening across the country. The 20-minute event is broadcast every Friday at 19:30.

A worldwide bulletin highlighting the political, social and cultural issues. The 15-minute bulletin is circulated daily at 16:20.

Vij talk: a talk show on business. The discussion mainly focuses on capital market, banking sector, currency, trade and commerce. The Biz Talk Weekly begins on Sunday and on Monday 13:15 for about 40 minutes.

The box office: a weekly entertainment show includes new and upcoming releases, Gossip, Top Music Charts and other entertainment stories. The 20-minute exhibition discusses world music and other sources of entertainment. Box Office Repeat on Monday at 19:30 and on Tuesday 07:30.

Connection BD: a program hosted by a video conference, connects people to a variety of local issues. The Bidi was broadcast on Friday 17:15 and continued for about 35 minutes.
